Summer 2024 Intern - Human Resource Leave of Absence

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Leave of Absence Administration Intern. In this role, you will gain valuable experience in assisting with the management and coordination of employee leave requests, ensuring compliance with company policies, and fostering a positive employee experience during challenging times.

As a Leave of Absence Administration Intern, you will work closely with our HR team to support the entire leave process, including reviewing leave applications, tracking employee leave statuses, and communicating with employees and managers regarding leave approvals and restrictions. You will also assist in maintaining accurate records, updating leave policies, and conducting research to stay informed about relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

· Review leave applications and ensure all necessary documentation is submitted

· Track and update employee leave statuses in our HRIS system

· Communicate with employees and managers to provide information and assistance regarding leave requests and approvals

· Maintain accurate records of leave balances, return-to-work dates, and other relevant information

· Assist in processing and coordinating paperwork for leaves of absence, including medical leaves, family leaves, and disability leaves

· Update and maintain leave policies and procedures in accordance with current laws and regulations

· Conduct research to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave of absence regulations

Requirements

· Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

· Strong organizational and time management skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word

· Knowledge of HRIS systems and leave management software is a plus

· Basic understanding of employment laws and regulations related to leave of absence administration
