Graphic Design Internship - Summer 2024

Organization
SOFWERX is a platform operated under an agreement between the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and DEFENSEWERX, designed to increase collaboration and innovation to solve challenging Warfighter problems. SOFWERX is a forum for accelerating the delivery of innovative capability, and facilitating capability refinement through exploration, experimentation, and assessment of promising technology. SOFWERX is in the heart of Ybor City, at a neutral, easily accessible facility.

Responsibilities
• Assist in developing and graphically implementing marketing materials
• Assist in providing digital design support for various marketing methods including direct mail, print ads, and social media
• Provide clerical support as needed
• Complete projects as needed on time
• Must participate in weekly market research and submit minimum required entries for new capabilities, technologies, companies, organizations, etc. that could contribute to the innovative ideas needed to create solutions for the warfighter.

Qualifications
• MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR A SECURITY CLEARANCE
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a similar major at a local accredited University
• Junior or Senior level, with current GPA of 3.0 or above
• Strong computer, technical and organizational skills
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to adapt design aesthetic to fit the SOFWERX vision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong sense of professionalism
• A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and PowerPoint)
• Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) with the ability to design marketing and promotional materials
• Ability to develop digital graphics for social media, print and marketing initiatives

Time Commitment
• Hours of operation: 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday
• This position requires a minimum of 15 hours and a maximum of 20 hours per week during the Fall/Spring semesters and up to 29 hours per week during the Summer semester
• This internship is in-person with limited remote work opportunities

Pay Rate
• $16/hour
