SECS Student Leader and Mentor

SECS Student Leader and Mentor Position

Currently hiring for Fall 2024: 

All SECS Majors are welcome to apply
Attention SECS Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors

 

Compensation: $17 per hour 

 

Overview: 

As an SECS Student Leader and Mentor, you'll be an integral part of fostering a supportive and collaborative environment within the School of Engineering and Computer Science. Your role involves guiding and supporting fellow students academically and professionally, as well as organizing and facilitating various school activities and events.

 

Essential Duties: 

Mentoring: 

  • Provide academic guidance and support to peers within the SECS community.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for accessing university services 
  • Cultivate a sense of camaraderie and inclusivity among SECS students.

Leadership: 

  • Plan social events, team-building activities, and peer networking opportunities.
  • Lead tours and participate in panel discussions for admission and SECS events for future students 

 

Qualification: 

  • Must be at least sophomore standing or higher
  • Enrolled as a student in good standing within the School of Engineering and Computer Science
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
