Graphic Designer Intern

Job Description:

Resilience, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving the mental health of students, as well as reducing mass shootings, suicide, and depression. Resilience, Inc also works to combat declining test scores, low student engagement, and a slew of other social issues. 

 

Our organization focuses on offering Social Emotional Learning tools to enable K-12 schools to teach emotional intelligence through five core topics; self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, goal setting, and effective decision-making. Resilience, Inc. also provides tools for acquiring and maintaining inspiration, hope, and overall well-being.

Resilience offers internship programs that require at least a 4 month commitment with a minimum of 5 hours per week. There are flexible start and end dates with the option to continue after meeting the minimum requirement

Some educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position.

We are seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer Intern to join our team. As a Graphic Designer Intern, you will have the opportunity to apply your skills and gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional setting. You will work closely with our design team to create visually appealing and impactful graphics for various projects, campaigns, and marketing materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the design team to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Create visually compelling graphics for various platforms including social media, websites, presentations, and print materials.
  • Assist in the development of brand identities, logos, and other visual elements.
  • Design and layout marketing collateral such as brochures, flyers, posters, and banners.
  • Produce engaging graphics and illustrations that effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for design projects.
  • Research current design trends and techniques to stay up-to-date with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design concepts align with project goals and objectives.
  • Assist in the production process, including image editing, retouching, and preparing files for print or digital distribution.
  • Support the design team with other tasks and projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design skills and creative projects.
  • Solid understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout composition.
  • Ability to interpret and translate design briefs into visually appealing concepts.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong eye for aesthetics.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and social media platforms is a plus.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics and video editing software is a bonus but not required.
