Job Description:

SK Siltron CSS has a unique opportunity at our Bay City site for an EH&S Intern for the summer of 2024.

Project Summary:

Short-term project to review and update CSS Bay City ICP

Short-term project to assist in the completion of the 2024 IH monitoring plan.

1. Problem status check (2 weeks)
   • Review ICP (94-page document) and update with current CSS status.
   • Review 2024 IH monitoring plan w/IH Specialist
2. Issue and Goal defined (1 week)
   • Identify gaps in ICP through complete review.
   • Create IH calendar (highest to lowest concern) for monitoring and monitoring completion.
3. Measure (1 week)
   • Break ICP into sections and use as measure for progress and completion.
   • Use IH calendar to measure progress and completion.
4. Analysis (1 weeks)
   • Identify gaps in the existing ICP.
   • Identify highest level IH monitoring needs and create plan to complete first, use highest to lowest level of concern to create path forward.
5. Improve (2 weeks)
   • Fill identified ICP gaps with up-to-date information on the status of Bay City CSS from now to when original ICP was created in 2022.
   • Monitor identified IH needs from highest to lowest level of concern.
6. Control and final reporting (1 weeks)
   • Updated ICP w/PE stamp to send to local municipalities and to LEPC.
   • Completed IH monitoring with post reports completed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review ICP with Environmental Specialist to identify any potential gaps.
• Create list of ICP gaps and investigate what the status is at CSS currently.
• Update ICP with findings from investigation and create new processes if there is nothing currently in place at CSS.
• Finalize ICP w/PE stamp and send it to proper interested parties.
• Review 2024 IH monitoring plan with IH Specialist
• Under supervision of IH Specialist, prepare and place monitoring equipment in proper areas (personal or area) and remove at proper times for analysis.
• Work with IH Specialist to analyze data and create final reports.

Physical Requirements:

S-Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Student in A.S / B.S program for Environmental, Health and Safety, Public Health, Fire prevention/protection, or Industrial Hygiene.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with MS office
