Job Description:

SK Siltron CSS has a unique opportunity at our Bay City site for a R&D Intern for the summer of 2024.

Project Summary:

1.) Problem status check (2 weeks)

  • PVT growth performance is influenced by a key furnace dimension. There is no current verification of this dimension in BC site.

2.) Issue and Goal defined (1 week)

  • Do walkthrough and discuss problem.
  • Introduce to data system.

3.) Measure (1 week)

  • Draft drawing for gauge based on Auburn gauge. Obtain gauge and measure all or sampling of BC furnace dimensions of interest.

4.) Analysis (1 weeks)

  • Extract growth data from database and compare with measured dimensions.

5.) Improve (2 weeks)

  • Monitor performance of furnaces post dimensional correction (if any).

6.) Control and final reporting (1 weeks)

  • Summarize results in PowerPoint and present to R&D and growth engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with R&D engineer and team to understand basic PVT process
  • Obtain tooling
  • Perform measurements of key PVT growth furnace dimensions
  • Extract relevant growth data from database
  • Perform correlation analysis
  • Summarize findings and present to R&D and engineering teams.

Physical Requirements:

S-Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Sophomore or later student in B.S program for Industrial engineering, Chemical, Physics, Materials Science, Electrical or engineering related degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with MS office.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis preferred
