Job Description:

SK Siltron CSS has a unique opportunity at our Bay City site for a R&D Intern for the summer of 2024.

Project Summary:

There is currently no ongoing data analysis being performed regarding crystal defects.

1.) Problem status check (2 weeks)

  • The top priority for R&D development in 2024 is crystal quality improvement. While separate projects exist to address this, there is currently no broad data analysis effort being made.

2.) Issue and Goal defined (1 week)

  • Introduce to PVT process and data system.

3.) Measure (1 week)

  • Extract relevant data from data system.

4.) Analysis (1 weeks)

  • Perform statistical analysis of extracted data to determine key correlations. Communicate to project owners.

5.) Improve (2 weeks)

  • Work with project owners to develop improvement plans based on findings.

6.) Control and final reporting (1 weeks)

  • Summarize results in PowerPoint and present to R&D and growth engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with R&D team to understand basic PVT process
  • Work with R&D project owners to develop improvement plans
  • Extract relevant growth data from database
  • Perform correlation analysis
  • Summarize findings and present to R&D and engineering teams.

Physical Requirements:

S-Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Sophomore or later student in B.S program for Industrial engineering, Chemical, Physics, Materials Science, Electrical or engineering related degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with MS office.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis preferred.
