D.O.V.E.S. Network ®️ is seeking a talented and passionate Copywriter/Grant Writing Intern to join our team for the summer semester. This internship opportunity is ideal for students pursuing degrees in English, communications, marketing, or related fields who want to gain practical experience in crafting compelling content and grant proposals that advance our mission of empowering teenagers affected by domestic violence and sexual abuse.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in writing and editing copy for D.O.V.E.S. Network's ®️ websites, social media, marketing materials, and awareness campaigns.
  • Research and develop persuasive grant proposals to secure funding for D.O.V.E.S. Network's ®️ programs and initiatives.
  • Developing a storytelling style of writing blended with evidence-based statistics.
  • Collaborate with the communications and development teams to understand project requirements and messaging goals.
  • Ensure consistent brand voice, tone, and adherence to style guidelines across all written content.
  • Contribute creative ideas and suggestions to improve written materials' overall impact and effectiveness.
  • Completing grant applications applicable to our three pathways.
  • Continuing to add new grant opportunities to the grant calendar.
  • Reach out to potential donors and sponsors with personalized emailing templates.
  • Keep a detailed inventory of all outreach made for future semesters with a list of contacts so we can send thank you letters to all grantors, donors, and sponsors.
  • Write thank you letters to all donors, sponsors, or past grantors.
  • Support the editing and proofreading process to maintain high-quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (English, communications, marketing, etc.).
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of English grammar and style.
  • Familiarity with various writing styles, including persuasive, informative, and creative.
  • Ability to adapt writing to different audiences and messaging objectives.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in grant writing, prospect research, or general fundraising or a minimum of two years of comparable and transferable skills acquired in a professional setting is required.
  • Strong research and analytical skills for developing grant proposals.
  • Passion for D.O.V.E.S. Network's ®️ mission and a commitment to supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse.

KPIs (Key Performance Indicators):

  • Quality and effectiveness of written content, as evaluated by the communications and development teams.
  • Number of successful grant proposals submitted and funding secured.
  • Adherence to brand voice and style guidelines across all written materials.
  • Positive feedback from supervisors and team members regarding collaboration and work ethic.
