Back End Software Developer

SimVentions, consistently voted one of Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for Senior Software Engineers to work on a new and emerging Navy tactical systems. The Engineer will be part of a team to support the US Navy focused on developing and modernizing Electronic Warfare (EW) systems.

Responsibilities: 

  • Write, test, debug, and document new code in C# that adheres to modern best practices and standards
  • Document code and engineering procedures
  • Participate in virtual team meetings
  • Assist in creation of user manuals and other technical documentation
  • Help to facilitate functional testing of software

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of Software Developer experience in web-based technologies using a combination of the following: C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, MVC, REST, JSON
  • Expert-level understanding of architecture and design patterns with a solid understanding of object-oriented design and clean coding
  • Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Postgres, or similar
  • Experience with source control such as Git, Subversion, or similarExperience in an Agile development environment
  • Experience with project management software such as Jira, Gitlab, or similar
  • Fluency in English
  • MUST be a US Citizen
  • Must have active Secret Clearance

Preferred Skills & Experience: 

  • Experience with Blazor is a plus
  • Candidates with user experience / interface design experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with virtualization technology and containers is preferred
     

Education: 

  • BS in Computer Science, Informatics, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field preferred
  • Industry certification required for IAT Level II in accordance with DoD 8570 (for example CompTIA Security+) - willing to obtain prior to start date

Clearance: A Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Travel: 10%
