Back End Software Developer
SimVentions, consistently voted one of Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for Senior Software Engineers to work on a new and emerging Navy tactical systems. The Engineer will be part of a team to support the US Navy focused on developing and modernizing Electronic Warfare (EW) systems.
Responsibilities:
- Write, test, debug, and document new code in C# that adheres to modern best practices and standards
- Document code and engineering procedures
- Participate in virtual team meetings
- Assist in creation of user manuals and other technical documentation
- Help to facilitate functional testing of software
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 years of Software Developer experience in web-based technologies using a combination of the following: C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, MVC, REST, JSON
- Expert-level understanding of architecture and design patterns with a solid understanding of object-oriented design and clean coding
- Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Postgres, or similar
- Experience with source control such as Git, Subversion, or similarExperience in an Agile development environment
- Experience with project management software such as Jira, Gitlab, or similar
- Fluency in English
- MUST be a US Citizen
- Must have active Secret Clearance
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with Blazor is a plus
- Candidates with user experience / interface design experience strongly preferred
- Experience with virtualization technology and containers is preferred
Education:
- BS in Computer Science, Informatics, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field preferred
- Industry certification required for IAT Level II in accordance with DoD 8570 (for example CompTIA Security+) - willing to obtain prior to start date
Clearance: A Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.
