Continuous Improvement Intern

Position Overview: 

We are seeking a highly motivated Continuous Improvement Intern focusing on Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our operations and management teams to analyze current processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop standardized procedures to streamline operations and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Duration: 12-16 Weeks

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand current processes and workflows.
  • Conduct detailed process analysis to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop comprehensive SOPs and work instructions for key operational processes.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to gather input and ensure the accuracy and completeness of SOPs.
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive process optimization and standardization.
  • Implement visual management tools and other continuous improvement techniques to enhance process visibility and control.
  • Assist in training and educating staff on new SOPs and process changes.
  • Monitor and measure process performance to identify further opportunities for improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field with an expected graduation date between December 2024 and June 2025.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to critically evaluate processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
