Special Needs Summer Camp Leader

Dive into the world of disabilities as a "Difference-Maker" and gain impactful service and leadership skills.

Internships at Play-Place offer college students the opportunity to integrate classroom theory and knowledge with real-world situations and exposure through engaging, hands-on experiences and reflection for an invaluable connection. Participants acquire direct involvement with special needs individuals of all ages, all diagnoses and all cognitive levels through fun and educational group activities, field trip and summer camp facilitation, program development and more. In addition to being a great learning experience, an internship position at Play-Place offers students insight into their own skills, interests, passions and values as well as an appreciation of community. Play-Place offers flexible, part-time scheduling to accommodate a great work-life balance. Most interns average 20 hours of direct program involvement with participants per week. This is an ideal opportunity for Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, Sociology, Mental Health, ABA, and Non-Profit Management students.

EXPERIMENTAL LEARNING LOGISTICS:

· Length of Service: 4 weeks

· Compensation: $700 Stipend (Gas & Lunch)

· Minimum time commitment 18 hours/week
