Hitachi Astemo Sunbury OH Summer Internship opportunity:

 

  • Dept:       Production engineering 
  • Period:    May/June – July/August (depending on candidate availability) 

 

Candidate Requirement’s:

Education / Work Experience

  • High School diploma and enrollment in a 4-year University Program in an engineering discipline. Must maintain a 2.5 average during the school term.
  • Sophomore at a minimum

 

Background / Skills

  • Mechanical Aptitude, general interest in mechanical applications or automotive, ability to work well in a team or individually. 
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions, drawings or diagrams and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience is required. AutoCAD and Solid Edge preferred.
  • Candidates should display resourcefulness and have a positive and driven attitude along with motivation to make a difference during this opportunity at Hitachi Astemo Sunbury.
  • Ability to reverse engineer components as required.

Special Training / Certificates

  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office) and inter-company communication (e-mail) are highly preferred.
  • Ability to generate 3D printed assignments is preferable. 

Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Candidate will gain exposure to the different aspects of Production Engineering at Hitachi Astemo (Quality, Kaizen, NM & Capital investment) in order to get a diverse background in the tasks and roles associated with Production Engineering.
    • Each Candidate will have a mentor assigned to them to help develop their growth. 
  • Each candidate will receive 1 long term (3 month) assignment to work on throughout the placement and will be required to report the outcome of their assignment to Production Engineering management at the end of the term.
  • In addition to the long-term assignment, each candidate will have daily tasks and smaller length assignments given to them from their immediate manager throughout the term. These will be specific to the group they are working in that term.
