Public Relations & Media Intern

Internship Description: As a Public Relations & Media Intern, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the public image and narrative of our artists. Working closely with our management team, you'll immerse yourself in crafting compelling stories, building media relationships, and executing dynamic PR campaigns.

Responsibilities:

  1. Artist Relations: Conduct interviews and research to craft captivating artist bios and press materials that authentically showcase our music artists’ stories and musical essence.
  2. PR Strategy: Assist in devising and implementing strategic PR initiatives to generate buzz and media coverage for our artists. Discover and create unique story angles and pitch to relevant media outlets.
  3. Media Outreach: Manage, maintain, and regularly update a comprehensive database of media contacts and outlets, including journalists, bloggers, and podcasters. Coordinate submissions, pitches, and press releases to secure maximum coverage and media attention for our artists.
  4. Follow-Up: Maintain professional relationships with media outlets, following up in a timely manner to ensure submissions are received and considered for coverage opportunities.
  5. Podcast Booking: Research and book podcast interviews for our artists, coordinating schedules and ensuring seamless communication between artists and podcast hosts and/or producers.
  6. Tour Press: Assist in securing press coverage for national tour dates, coordinating with venues, promoters, and local media to maximize exposure for our artists.
  7. Social Media Support: Collaborate with our social media team to assist in content creation, scheduling, and community engagement across various social platforms.
  8. Content Management: Assist in organizing and maintaining photo and video files for artists, ensuring that assets are easily accessible for promotional purposes.
  9. Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality regarding artists’ personal lives, artist contracts, artist contact information, releases, media contacts and journalist databases, platform credentials and other proprietary materials and information.
  10. EPK Creation: Assist in creating electronic press kits (EPKs) for artists, compiling essential promotional materials such as bios, digital press clippings, photos, and videos.
  11. Website Management: Aid in updating information for artists' official websites to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  12. Content Creation: Develop interesting and engaging blog posts for the company website, highlighting our artists' stories, achievements, and upcoming projects.
  13. Maintain Professional Demeanor: Conduct all interactions with artists, clients, media personnel, media outlets, and team members with utmost professionalism and integrity, representing the company's values at all times.

Requirements:

  • Genuine passion for music and a keen interest in the music industry.
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft engaging narratives and compelling press materials.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to multitask effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and familiarity with media databases is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with editing software such as CapCut, Canva, and Photoshop is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Duration: This is a Bandhouse Music Group internship position with flexible start and end dates, and for the earning of higher education credit.
