Instructional Design Intern

Job Title: Instructional Design Intern - Manuals Creation

As an Instructional Design Intern focusing on manual creation, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers have the guidance they need to maximize the benefits of our products.

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Instructional Design Intern to develop three essential manuals for our product line: a Quick Start Guide, an Electricians Install Manual, and a User Manual. This internship offers a unique opportunity to apply instructional design principles and technical writing skills to create user-friendly documentation that meets the needs of both consumers and professionals.

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Quick Start Guide – (Included in the packaging)
    1. Mechanical Mounting
    2. Plugin Requirements

Consumer install only supports NEMA 14-50 plugs

Hardwired Install requires electrician install (see Electricians Install Manual)

  1. Basic Phone App Setup (out of box)
  2. Product Registration
  3. Electricians Install Manual (online only)
    1. Detailed information about removal of top cover
    2. Detailed information about hardwire install

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Instructional Design, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear and accessible content.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles, user experience (UX) design, and technical documentation best practices.
  • Proficiency in document creation and editing tools, such as Microsoft Word or Adobe InDesign.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
