In this role, you'll dive into implementing cutting-edge machine learning algorithms to tackle fascinating challenges like modeling temporal sensor data, analyzing video data from experiments, and ensuring data integrity. Imagine developing an object detector for high-speed video data collected during ballistic experiments – that's just one example of the impactful projects you'll be involved in!

Not only will you get to work with state-of-the-art technology, including accelerated hardware and supercomputing resources, but you'll also be instrumental in crafting optimized machine learning solutions for data-intensive applications. Plus, with opportunities available for both full-time and part-time positions, you can even pursue this opportunity while completing your degree.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop high performance data pipelines to pre-process, clean, augment, and curate datasets for machine learning processes for imagery and sensor data.
• Develop Machine Learning models for a variety of data types including imagery, time-series, and numeric data. Image tasks include computer vision algorithms like image detection, classification, tracking, and segmentation. Time series model development include neural networks for tasks such as pattern-of-life, anomaly detection, pattern recognition, and identification.
• Identify appropriate Machine Learning and Computer Vision techniques to successfully model task objectives for a variety of data types.
• Modify popular pre-trained Machine Learning models to suit the needs of custom- 
•  tailored solutions.
• Conduct analysis and evaluation of Machine Learning solutions to meet the needs of project specifications including identifying the efficiency and efficacy of trained models.
• Integrate machine learning with pre-existing software (analysis tools, common operating picture utilities, etc.).
• Collaborate with the Skyward team and participate in a unique mentorship opportunity to integrate machine learning with state-of-the-art dynamic simulations and testing.
• Meet with customers and partners to better understand their problems and with Skyward’s subject matter experts to devise solutions.
• Organize and analyze data to derive conclusions, insights, and confidence level.
• Write reports, develop presentations, and take an active role in the development of new proposals.
• Support Live Fire and other test’s onsite data collection and analysis.
• Travel to meet with customers and support data collection at test sites.

Skills, Proficiencies:

• Experience with common programming languages/packages related to Machine Learning such as Python, C++, TensorFlow/Pytorch, Numpy, Pandas, MatPlotLib, etc.
• Experience with transforming and processing data, developing data pipelines, and understanding issues with data integrity for Machine Learning systems.
• Good communication skills to foster cooperative working relationships.
• Willingness to learn, self-starting, and proactive.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Minimum Qualifications:

• US Citizenship Required with an Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance
• Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Related Field or Equivalent work Experience
