Telecommunications Endpoint Professional

This position reviews, analyzes, and engineers effective, modern workplace technologies supporting our customer endpoint systems. Employees partner with the Endpoint Professional, division leadership, and Service Delivery staff to modernize technology and drive efficiencies across a broad base of endpoint technologies, including Windows PC’s, Macs, Internet of Things devices, workstation provisioning, software and configuration deployment, printers, accessories, and peripherals. The position evaluates hardware and software solutions to find opportunities for new or improved IT services. Other skill sets include software package deployment, PowerShell, project management, and remote system management.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology Engineering, or related field preferred but not required;
  • an understanding of IT Service Management and ITIL concepts;
  • excellent customer facing skills, comfortable working with different levels of staff;
  • a drive to learn;
  • excellent critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.

Knowledge of:

  • operating systems and end-user compute hardware;
  • remote system management tools and practices, including Microsoft InTune and Ivanti;
  • IT asset system management practices;
  • endpoint management trends and best practices;
  • virtualization, networking, and/or cloud services;
  • IT security trends and best practices;
  • PowerShell scripting;
  • automation tools.

Ability to:

  • conceptualize and implement systems within broad technical or structural frameworks;
  • partner with leadership and Service Delivery to analyze, redesign, and modernize technology and drive efficiencies;
  • think in a technically creative manner with an open mind;
  • research, evaluate, and implement new technologies with enthusiasm;
  • coordinate activities and communicate effectively with clients, peers, and contractors;
  • work with other technology disciplines and teams to ensure any issues are resolved;
  • collect and provide feedback on platform capabilities and limitations;
  • interact with vendors of assigned system components for technical support within existing vendor agreements;
  • research and evaluate hardware and software for solutions to issues and challenges, and opportunities for IT services;
  • diagnose and resolve system problems;
  • work on large / complex system deployment projects in a team environment;
  • work closely with system users in the identification and resolution of user problems and concerns for complex projects;
  • design, configure, implement, and maintain system security strategies, policies, and procedures;
  • engage in long-term strategic planning regarding endpoint development and integration;
  • create and maintain documentation on standard operating procedures and system designs.

This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
