Junior Analyst

DiversIQ is the leading provider of public company human capital management (HCM) intelligence with analysts that maintain the industry’s most comprehensive database of real-time HCM, Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG), and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) insights.  DiversIQ’s data is used by many of the world’s largest asset managers, advisors, and corporations to benchmark Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) based on emerging standards, laws, and regulations.

We are looking for several highly motivated junior analysts to join our team, focusing on the maintenance and expansion of our data coverage, automation of research processes, and the development of new research and data extraction tools. In this role, you will be joining a fast-growing, fully remote startup, and work closely with a dynamic and collegial founding team.

A successful DiversIQ analyst is a fast learner, perpetually curious, laser-focused on details, and can operate independently or as part of a team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collect, organize, analyze, and describe key company data points from financial filings, corporate websites, diversity reports and ESG/CSR reports.
  • Develop processes for automation of discovery, extraction, and analysis of data.
  • Function as intermediary quality assurance, and control analyst for the work of the data extraction team and communicate regularly with data extraction team. 
  • Build upon existing processes for auditing, validating, and assuring the quality of the data provided.
  • Contribute to the product and feature development process.

Need to have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Business Analytics, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or other related fields.
  • 0-2 years of professional work experience.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, including planning and delivery, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence and quality control.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey ideas and insights effectively and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.

Nice to have:

  • Basic to intermediate level programming skills - python a plus. 
  • Experience with SQL or other relational database technologies.
  • Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. 

Bonus Points:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial services and ESG from either education, work experience, or personal interest.
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement, as well as devise and implement innovative solutions.
  • Strong appetite for a fast pace and small team start-up with a nimbleness to pivot quickly, and a desire to grow and improve.
  • A motivated self-starter with the desire to seek out opportunity and continuously learn. 

This is a temporary position with the opportunity for permanent employment after an evaluation period of approximately 90 days.
