Sales Intern

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Intern role will provide direct working experience with sales professionals from the perspective of a Tier-One Automotive Supplier.  The position will expose the intern to a variety of assignments that will assist the Morse Systems NA Sales team in managing current customer accounts.  Individual and team assignments and associated responsibilities will be assigned according to the needs of the sales organization as well as supporting developmental considerations for the intern.  Primary responsibilities will consist of internal sales support with

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for processing customer contracts through the internal contract approval process. This includes confirming that the contract is aligned with the quotation
  • Coordinates prototype activities of the sales department (creates request for prototypes quotes, processes prototype orders from the customer, follows up on the deliveries with the prototype groups at the different plants)
  • Maintains the Material Adjustment recovery programs (updates monthly/quarterly control documents ensuring accuracy)
  • Supports Lifecycle Management process improvement and data management (schedules/follows up on quarterly gate review meetings, adds new programs to the database as needed).
  • Supports the management of SharePoint site for the department, including sales process improvements and information/user management
  • Responsible for pick-up/drop off of product samples to/from customers as needed
  • Supports Sales forecast/long range plan data entry into sales’ systems. As needed coordinates with the global marketing research department for alignment
  • Participates in sales activities and interaction with operations, customers, program management, global supply chain and business development as appropriate according to intern’s development interests and business needs

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Currently enrolled, pursuing a Business Administration, Marketing or Engineering major
  • Must have and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Must have availability to work a minimum of 20-29 hours per week.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organization and Comprehension skills
  • Good knowledge of and Application of Microsoft Office Software Required, in particular Excel
