Autonodyne is a Boston-based software company working to provide additive autonomy to unmanned vehicles in land, sea, and air domains. Our technology stack applies mainly to the defense sector, but we view most of our work as dual use for commercial applications. We are a rapidly growing organization with over 50 people employed today. At Autonodyne we specialize in the command and control of autonomous vehicles. Our software suite sits at the nexus of Human-Machine Interface & Autonomy Behaviors. We are searching for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about unmanned systems. The ideal candidate must be familiar with coding structures used including design patterns, sequencing patterns, decoupling and optimization in C#,C++.

The role is a contract position, with the opportunity to turn into a full-time permanent position.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize codebase, ensuring optimal performance and usability;
  • Develop C++ implementations of signal processing algorithms and time critical control functions involved in direct control of autonomous systems;
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members;
  • Expand the Autonomy mission computer for implementation at the edge;
  • Integrate a ROTE (reasoning-at-the-edge) framework to improve performance of the company’s existing autonomy behaviors.
  • Use agile and scrum methodologies to prepare, plan and execute on contract-based deliverables;
  • Implement GIT version control strategies;
  • Develop C# code, test code, fix bugs, profile, and optimize code to meet deliverable requirements;
  • Design, develop and maintain command and control station (CCS) for unmanned systems (air, sea, and land) using C# in Unity;
  • Support flight test, as required

Minimum Qualifications:

US Citizenship Required

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/ programming or related field
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience
  • You are comfortable in object-oriented languages like C#, C++, or Java
  • You have a solid grasp of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
  • You collaborate - you can explain your work, you can ask great questions, you can listen to your peers and your customers, and you like to give and receive feedback.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and communicate technical subjects clearly and concisely;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in computer science/ programming or related field
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

Travel:

This position has the potential travel to customer and non-customer sites principally in North America (10-20%) but global travel is also possible.

Other Criteria:

Strongly prefer domicile near the Boston/Cambridge metro area but will consider non-local domicile – relocation to Boston area part of compensation package, if necessary

US Citizenship required.

Security clearance (active or previous) or the ability to be granted one desired.
