Broadcast and Communications Intern

The Flint Firebirds are seeking multiple Broadcast and Communications interns for the 2024-25 season. Successful candidates will work on a rotational basis in the following duties, gaining experience in broadcast production, communications, media relations, digital content and more.

The Firebirds are members of the prestigious Ontario Hockey League, recognized as one of the top player developmental leagues in the world. During the 2023-24 season, scouts from all 32 NHL teams attended Firebirds games. Since the team’s inception in 2015, the Firebirds have had 29 drafted or NHL-signed players on its roster.

Interns would have the opportunity to contribute to telecasts on the Firebirds Hockey Network, which are broadcast live online via CHL TV and across Ontario as part of the OHL Action Pak.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to gain experience in the sports industry while learning from experienced professionals in broadcasting, communications and production. Interns would work with and report to the Director of Communications and Play-by-Play Announcer as well as the Director of Broadcasting, developing valuable skills for those looking to build a career in sports.
