Fuel Analyst

This position will monitor daily nominations on the LDC Electronic Bulletin Board (“EBB”) and validate the LDC nominations with the interstate pipeline nominations.  This position will be the primary contact for Poolers/Marketers serving customers on the PSNC and DESC systems. 


Additional duties include:
 

  • Provides customer support for PSNC and DESC Marketers/Poolers.
  • Monitors daily LDC nominations on the EBB and coordinates scheduled quantities based on the amount of gas delivered on the applicable interstate pipeline.
  • Understands and ensures that Marketers/Poolers act in accordance with the applicable tariff, rules and regulations on the state and federal level.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and communicates information related to measurement and customer contracts.
  • Calculates month end imbalances and cashouts.
  • Prepares month end reports and assists with month end gas accounting & billing closeout.
  • Provides backup support for interstate pipeline scheduling and balancing.


This position offers a hybrid schedule which will include some weekend & holidays.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

 

Fuel Analyst I:    0 to 2 years of relevant experience.

Fuel Analyst II:   2+ years of relevant experience. 

Fuel Analyst III:  5+ years of relevant experience. 

Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:
 

  • Solid working knowledge of business processes and fuel industry.
  • Good analytical skills, ability to review a variety of information and identify cost impact to the company.
  • Skilled in the use of a computer and related applications/programs.
  • Competent in use of office software such as Word, Excel, Access and HTML or other web languages.
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs.
  • Ability to handle multiple project and priorities within specified deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal and external company contacts.
  • Previous work experience in the energy industry desired.

Education Requirements

 

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor
 

Preferred Disciplines: Business, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics
