Autonodyne is a Boston-based software company working to provide additive autonomy to unmanned vehicles in land, sea, and air domains. Our technology stack applies mainly to the defense sector, but we view most of our work as dual use for commercial applications. We are a rapidly growing organization with over 50 people employed today. At Autonodyne we specialize in the command and control of autonomous vehicles. Our software suite sits at the nexus of Human-Machine Interface & Autonomy Behaviors. We are searching for a GStreamer Engineer who is passionate about unmanned systems. The ideal candidate can effectively utilize skills to work on software systems for autonomous systems in all phases of the software development lifecycle, with a primary focus on video capabilities.

The role is primarily for the individual to be a key individual contributor within our software development teams.

 

Responsibilities:

· Develop robust, scalable, performance driven software to be deployed on a variety of computing systems;

· Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable GStreamer pipelines for streaming video data;

· Integrate video data into C++ and C# applications to enable real-time image processing and computer vision capabilities;

· Optimize GStreamer pipelines to make full use of Jetson’s hardware acceleration capabilities (CUDA, cuDNN, TensorRT)

· Optimize GStreamer pipelines to run on Unity/C# applications

· Support flight test, as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in computer science/ programming or related field;

· 2+ years of experience in a Software Engineering role;

· Proven experience with the GStreamer framework and its integration with computer vision technologies

· Demonstrated capabilities with large C++ and C# codebases;

· Experience in GIT version-control software;

· Ability to quickly grasp and communicate technical subjects clearly and concisely;

· US Citizenship required;

 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Master's degree in computer science/ programming or related field;

· Interest or experience in aerospace engineering;

 

Travel:

This position will likely involve no travel.

 

Other Criteria:

Strongly prefer domicile near the Boston/Cambridge metro area but will consider non-local domicile – relocation to Boston area part of compensation package, if necessary.
