Graduate Intern-Human Resources, SharePoint and Web Design

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This internship in the Human Resources department focuses on SharePoint development and web design. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate with a passion for technology and design to gain practical experience in building and contributing to the overall web presence of our HR organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in web design principles, proficiency in SharePoint development, and a desire to contribute to projects that enhance user experience and productivity.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the design and development of new HR SharePoint sites, including creating and customizing site templates, workflows, and forms.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into functional and user-friendly SharePoint solutions.
Create and update content on HR websites, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
Use up-to-date, emerging trends and technologies in web design and SharePoint development, sharing insights and recommendations with the team.
Optimize website performance and user experience through responsive design techniques and accessibility best practices.
Collaborate with HR team members to ensure a deep understanding of how the site was built and how to maintain it going forward.
Design and develop web pages and user interfaces ensuring compatibility across different browsers and devices.
Support the integration of third-party tools and applications with SharePoint sites to enhance functionality and streamline business processes as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree
Graduate school candidate
Related experience preferred
Advanced analytical and communication skills
Attention to detail with the ability to collect and record information from a wide variety of sources
Ability to use standard office tools and software (MS-Office)
Must be reliable and able to set consistent work hours
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Design, or a related field.
Strong understanding of web design principles, including responsive design techniques.
Proficiency in SharePoint development, including experience with SharePoint Online, SharePoint Designer, and SharePoint Framework (SPFx).
Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks/libraries such as jQuery or React is a plus.
Creative mindset with a passion for user-centered design and improving digital experience.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Prior experience with website design.
