Front-end Web Development Intern

As a forward-thinking startup at the forefront of professional development, World Salon's primary mission is to suggest ideas and foster connections among professionals of the financial and techinical fields. Currently, we are seeking undergraduate and graduate students passionate about technology and web development to play a foundational role in our digital strategy. Interns will work closely with senior leadership, and enjoy the freedom to innovate and directly influence the online interface of our platform. The core mission of this position is to facilitate both in-person and online panels and seminars for business professionals, offering them insights from global thought leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the user interface of the World Salon platform.
  • Collaborate with backend developers to integrate RESTful APIs.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Optimize the application for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Implement responsive design principles to ensure a seamless user experience across devices.
  • Perform code reviews and participate in agile development processes.

Technical Requirements:

  • Proven Experience in Frontend Development.
  • Proficiency in HTML, JavaScript and frontend frameworks (React or Angular).
  • Experience in version control systems like Git. Familiar with RESTful APIs and JSON files.
  • Strong Problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha).

Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program in Computer Science, Web Development, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in web development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and experience with server-side languages (PHP, Python, Ruby).
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and implement effective web design and development solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • An avid learner, enthusiastic about keeping abreast of the latest trends and technologies in web development and digital design.
  • A genuine interest in the professional development sector, with a commitment to contributing to World Salon's mission of delivering superior educational content.
