Creative Writing Intern

THE ROLE

 

The Creative Writing Intern will play an integral role in producing imaginative, thoroughly-researched blog posts and articles, generating distinctive language for email marketing initiatives, and contributing innovative ideas to enhance customer engagement. This intern will also collaborate closely with the Project Management and Business Development teams to deliver top-quality, polished written content for proposals, business plans, and sophisticated presentations.

  • Internship Duration: September 2024 - February 2025
  • Job Type: Internship (Unpaid) – *College credit required*
  • Duration: Minimum 18 hours per week for 5 months.
  • Location: Remote (Zoom), based in New York, NY - Hybrid optional
  • Communication: Bi-weekly virtual team meetings and daily breakout rooms.
  • Working Hours: Self-schedule 9 AM - 9 PM EST Monday through Friday, Saturday-Sunday 10 AM - 5 PM.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Write and publish blogs and articles across JBIER’s e-commerce and social media platforms, covering a range of topics such as fashion, beauty, trends, styling, career, travel, sustainability, and the JBIER team.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Marketing team in writing branded, interactive captions and hashtags for social and e-commerce posts.
  • Utilize creative writing skills to perfect verbiage on the JBIER Boutique website, including lookbooks, collection pages, and email marketing newsletters.
  • Assist with composing expertly written replies for all crucial, top-tier email communications. Remain current with all emails and priority assignments.
  • Collaborate with the Founder and Business Development team to establish new relationships and maintain existing partnerships with universities in support of JBIER’s Fashion Internship Program and company initiatives. Optimize language for all pre-written communication documents, including drafting and sending high-level proposals to key partners.
  • Draft video scripts and distribute them to the Founder, team leaders, and team members.
  • Work closely with the Founder and Web Design team to successfully execute career development initiatives, encompassing workshops, networking events, educational learnings, and webinars.
  • Collaborate with the web design team to monitor and update legal sections, such as Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and FAQs.
  • Assist with creating, coordinating, planning, and executing in-person and virtual events, such as fundraisers, fashion shows, photoshoots, pop-up shops, and workshops. This includes  conducting research, creating event visions, ensuring content readiness, and assisting in the overall success of JBIER events.
     

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Administrative, Project Management, and Blogging experience are highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Consistent, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a remote, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Clear and demonstrative understanding of how to manage competing priorities within a business setting.
