Position Title: Psychology/Sociology Intern
Type: Part-time Academic Credit Internship (10-20 hours per week)

Interns may also receive program or course credit for this experience if approved by their educational institution. This internship is unpaid, but eligible for academic or course credit if approved by your educational institution.” 

Internships may be paid based on outside programs, federal-work study and scholarships in which needs to be facilitated by the university, program, or student; we simply sign off on timesheets and are not responsible for payment.

Position Summary:

We are seeking motivated and passionate Psychology/Sociology Interns to join our team. As a non-profit organization with limited funding, we offer several meaningful assignments related to psychological and sociological research and community outreach. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the social sciences while contributing to impactful projects that support our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and Data Analysis: Conduct psychological and sociological research, including literature reviews, data collection, and analysis, to support various projects.
  • Program Development: Assist in designing and implementing community outreach programs that address mental health and social well-being.
  • Surveys and Interviews: Develop and administer surveys, conduct interviews, and analyze responses to gather insights on community needs.
  • Outreach and Engagement: Engage with community members and partner organizations to promote awareness and participation in our programs.
  • Report Writing: Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations based on research findings and project outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other interns and staff on multidisciplinary projects, contributing your expertise in psychology and sociology.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to other students and interns on topics related to psychology and sociology.
  • Support and Advocacy: Advocate for marginalized and at-risk populations by participating in relevant discussions and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a psychology or sociology program.
  • Strong interest in non-profit work and community outreach.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Extraordinary collaboration skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to working with vulnerable populations and communities.
  • A great attitude and integrity are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and research tools.
