Democracy Campaigns Intern

Democracy Campaigns Intern:

Reports to: Partnerships Manager

Location: Washington, D.C., (Hybrid - 3 days in office & 2 days remote each week)

Internship dates: September 9, 2024 - November 22, 2024

Status: Full-Time; Non-Exempt

Salary: $20/hour not to exceed 40 hours/week

 

Launched in 2016, The Hub Project is a nonprofit effort composed of a growing team of communications, research, operations, and organizing experts who have extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, and polling and analytics. We believe in a country where everyone has the opportunity to succeed in our economy and participate in our democracy, and we make that vision a reality by partnering with advocacy groups – bringing surge capacity and coordination to build innovative and effective campaigns.

 

 

Position Summary:

The Hub Project is accepting applications for a Democracy Campaigns intern to support the team’s efforts to fight back against attacks on our democracy. The Democracy Campaigns team leverages a mix of grassroots organizing, paid media, and earned media tactics to advance the goals of The Hub Project and its allies. The Democracy Campaigns intern plays a critical role in supporting our democracy-related programs. 

 

As the Democracy Campaigns Intern, you will,


 

  • Support the Partnerships Manager in strengthening relationships with existing partners and building new relationships with potential allies
  • rack and attend both Hub-led and external movement convenings both virtually and in-person
  • Assist with the creation of written materials such as email draft language and briefing materials
  • Support the Democracy Campaigns team in pushing a progressive policy agenda and work with the team to disseminate the messaging written across the progressive ecosystem
  • Conduct research for team priorities and assist in the distribution of relevant materials
  • Support the campaign department staff with other strategic and operational tasks,
  • other duties as assigned
