MDAA Fellows and Interns will work to support all areas of responsibility within the organization including operations, communications, and government relations. Typical duties include:
Operations assignments include:
- Interacting with visitors at MDAA’s office and guests at MDAA events
- Research contact information for government, military, and defense industry officials
- Assisting with the creation of agendas for MDAA’s global events
- Supporting colleagues with special tasks
Communications assignments include:
- Updating the MDAA website
- Draft and edit MDAA alerts
- Creating social media posts
- Writing and editing correspondence
- Assisting with talking points and presentations
- Other duties as assigned
Government Relations assignments include:
- Maintaining a database of contacts including congressional staffers, foreign embassy staffers, U.S. military, and defense industry officials
- Tracking congressional activity with an emphasis on the Armed Services and Appropriations committees
- Attending Congressional hearings and think tank events in Washington and taking careful notes to brief MDAA staff on issues discussed
- Assisting with the planning and execution of MDAA’s Congressional Roundtable Discussion events on Capitol Hill including delivering invitations to congressional staffers and following up to confirm attendance
- Other duties as assigned

- Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis
- Must be available to work at least 3 full days per week (Full-time positions available)
