Human Resources Intern

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position will support the Human Resources team providing the opportunity to gain practical HR experience. The roles and responsibilities of the intern will be aligned to prepare the candidate for the goals and objectives expected of a new college graduate HR generalist.

This HR team member will engage in project-oriented work providing meaningful experience directly supporting the overall HR business goals and objectives within core disciplines, including: organization development, talent management, employee relations, labor relations, compensation and benefits, and HR Information Systems.
 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide support to the HR Generalist and members of the Human Resources department on all personnel matters
  • Assist department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees
  • Assist with temporary recruitment and full-time recruiting efforts
  • Assist in employee relations and record employee responses to counseling
  • Prepare monthly HR reports as needed; control chronological, functional, and employee files
  • Maintain Human Resource information system records and compile reports from database as needed
  • Update job descriptions and organizational charts as needed
  • Assist in the performance management process and review appraisals for completeness and accuracy
  • Assist in orientation and on-boarding training for new hires
  • Handle all first-level inquiries to HR on policies and procedures
  • Comply with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at Constellium
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Coordinate and participate in monthly Birthday Roundtable meetings
  • Participate in the creation and implementation of continuous improvement projects to enhance the department and organization

Requirement:

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Human Resources or Human Resources-related field
  • Experience in HR or administrative role a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong customer service/client-oriented skills
  • Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills
  • Ability to consult with professionals at all levels within the organization

     

This internship is slated to start in August and would end in December of 2024. We are looking for an individual ready to join our team and would be looking to transition to Full time in January 2025.
