SENS provides an accessible and modern approach to psychology. We are a rapidly growing private practice with offices in three urban areas, as well as a provider of remote psychotherapy services. In addition, we support an online community that provides awareness, education, and support for psychological issues.

We provide training for exceptional and ambitious students looking for a supportive environment with modern opportunities and community engagement! Our flexible program allows for students with unique writings interests. Topics will include trauma, parenting of children/adolescents, prenatal/postnatal psychology, couples counseling, social justice and relationships. 

Our primary topic for this coming cycle is Modern Relationships. Ambitious interns carve out a niche training experience, and we will allow you to get creative. We provide excellent training and mentorship. In addition, interns have the option to co-create programs, community initiatives and writing modules that will boost their resumes, allow them to contribute to the app development/tech community, and set them apart from other students.

Requirements: Must have 10-15 hours available per week. 

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

I. Psychology Writing

Complete research, conduct extensive literature review, and have the opportunity to edit and contribute to an ongoing manuscript.

• Research and write blog
• Conduct extensive literature reviews on specific chapter topics.
• Participate in topic huddle groups with other interns and like-minded professionals
• Do fieldwork interviewing relevant experts.
• Design and conduct observational and survey-based research studies in high-stress work environments.
• Have the ability to continue working on the writing project during the subsequent semester in a paid capacity.
• For exceptional interns, have the opportunity for authorship credit.

II. Social-Media & Marketing

Understand how social media can be used to promote public health, mental health awareness & access to treatment options. Learn how to use social media to promote psychotherapy services.

• Learn, design and manage a social media presence for a modern psychology practice.
• Newsletter drafting and editing
• Study best practices in social media promotion for clinicians and academics.
• Create and manage social media posts on a variety of platforms.
• Conduct A/B research designs in real-time to test strategies
• Identify and collaborate with relevant social media influencers.
• Collaborate with professionals from other fields, as well as students in marketing programs, in order to create symbiotic relationships.

IV. App Development

• Generate content for an online relationship app & platform.
• Contribute to app design and development
• Monitor and contribute to online relationship groups in a variety of contexts.
• Creatively identify and manage ways to generate traffic and participation in online support groups.
• Have the opportunity to design, plan, implement and complete an independent psychoeducational training module on a topic of personal interest (great resume builder!).

For interns of exceptional potential, have the opportunity to continue with a paid position during the subsequent semester.
