Audio Visual Technician

Position Overview:

Audio Visual Technicians are responsible for operating and maintaining audio-visual equipment within the Oakland Center. They assist faculty, staff, students, and off-campus guests in the use of computers, multimedia, and audio-visual equipment to ensure a successful event. This role is currently an as-needed position where the majority of hours will fall on evenings and weekends. Students are required to attend weekly staff meetings where the following week's events are discussed. Individuals in this position may also be asked to assist Event Support Services for other events around campus. This position reports to the Associate Director, Operations of the Oakland Center.

Essential Duties:

  • Assists faculty, staff, students, and off-campus guests in the proper use of computer, multimedia, and audio-visual equipment.
  • Respond immediately to troubleshooting issues and provide backup solutions.
  • Assist in equipment repair, cleaning, and routine periodic maintenance.
  • Previous experience with audio-visual equipment and special event support is desired
