3D Animation Intern

The internship is meticulously crafted to foster expertise in 3D animation, ensuring that all assigned tasks directly contribute to the enhancement of skills within this specialized field of study.
Preferred Internship Qualifications:
While the start and end dates of the internship are flexible, it is specifically intended for the Winter/Spring 2024-5 semester.
- Experience or technical ability using and animating in Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, or similar 3D animation software (some experience and access to at least one required).
- Interest in storytelling using emotion and character development.
- Ability to effectively solve problems and resolve any hurdles that present themselves while working to create the best animation possible.
- We value highly organized and diligent individuals who are eager to learn new tasks.
- A portfolio or reel showcasing 3D animation work and demonstrating technical and creative abilities.
- Understanding of composition principles.
- Self-motivation.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to work creatively as part of a large or small group.
- Understanding of 3D animation principles and how they relate to the creation of digital puppets and assets.
Responsibilities:
During the internship, interns will be responsible for working on 2-4 projects. The number of assignments given will be determined based on the complexity of the projects, the intern's proficiency, and the credit hours required. On these projects, students should expect to be responsible for the following:
- Character & keyframe animation of characters for multiple animation projects.
- Stylized body animation using triggers and controllers.
- Designing and rigging characters of different shapes and sizes.
- Ability to communicate emotion and tell a story through animation and design.
- Ability to learn new programs and pipelines quickly and effectively.
- Proactive and driven, seeking out tasks remaining to be finished and actively seeking opportunities to learn.
- Work efficiently with a team.
- Stay highly organized and diligent, able to learn new tasks.
