Oakland University Student Congress - Director of Financial Affairs

Duties and Responsibilities 

In conjunction with the Student Body President, must prepare, compile, and publish budgets for the University Student Congress. Submit monthly financial reports to the University Student Congress, detailing in writing all expenses and deductions to the budget made during the current semester up to the report date. Assist OUSC members with submitting and placing approved orders for the University Student Congress. The Director of Financial Affairs or their designee shall serve as the representative of the University Student Congress on the Student Activities Fund Assessment Committee. Maintain an organized electronic record of invoices, purchases, and their effect on the OUSC budget. Assist all members upon request with negotiating and seeking alternative vendors to eliminate the barriers of not using the typical preferred vendors (Amazon). Examples: tax exemptions, price difference negotiations, etc. 

Enumerated Powers 

Maintain all University Student Congress accounts. May tentatively deny purchases and refer them to the Student Body President or the appropriate designee.
