About Our Summer Investment Research & Trading Internship Opportunity
The Investment Research and Trading Intern position is a temporary position that exists to provide a student with a general department overview and supervised practical training. The duties and responsibilities of the position will vary and will be dependent upon the department where the employee is assigned to work. General duties will be assigned to give the student an overview of the department and a chance to develop some of the entry level skills required in the department.
Our Investment Research & Trading Internship opportunity will focus following areas:
- Review financial statements to assist with the investment analysis process
- Bind investment analysis reports
- Support the annual fund review and quarterly fund due diligence processes
- Support trading functions including set-aside cash and portfolio validation
- Assist with portfolio reviews, client benchmarking, and dispersion testing
- Perform inter-office mail pick up and delivery
- Perform scanning and filing of documents
- Assist with company event set up and tear down
- Operate standard office equipment
- Assist with miscellaneous projects as requested
- Maintain team approach by assisting and filling in for others
- Perform other duties as requested
- This is the perfect internship for someone working towards a CFA designation! –
A couple things to note about our Internships:
- This position is based at our Rockford, IL office.
- Due to the nature of the work, this role will require you to work in person, so you will need to have reliable transportation.
- This is a seasonal role, beginning in June ending in August.
- Full-time hours are expected, working Monday-Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM.
The Investment Research and Trading Intern position typically requires the following qualifications:
- To be considered for our internship programs you must have your high school diploma and be currently enrolled in college program, preferably pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, financial planning, business or economics related field. Students that are currently in their Junior year will be prioritized upon application review.
- All applicants must be within driving distance to our Rockford, IL office, as this position requires in-person support. We are not open to relocation for this opportunity.
- All applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
- You will exemplify a strong work ethic
- You bring a team player attitude
- You possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbally
- You hold yourself with a professional demeanor and be comfortable working with both internal and external clients
- You will be proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- You will be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task
