Software Design Intern

Department description: 
The Capacity Market Credit Risk team is responsible for designing and developing computer based systems for Capacity and Energy Markets. The primary systems supported include Forward Capacity Tracking System (FCTS), Internal Market Monitoring Asset Characteristics and messaging adapters Enterprise Optimization Engine and Energy Market Opportunity Cost.

What will you be working on:
Looking for an intern with experience in software design, coding and debugging using one of Java, Python, React, Apache Camel and basic understanding of AWS services. Projects will include front-end UI application development (coding, programming, testing), integration application development (coding, programming, testing) and developing automated testing scripts/programs for new and existing software.

Intern will gain hands-on experience in software design, coding, and testing.  Intern will be a member of a team of experienced software professionals with many opportunities for mentoring and learning.

What we look for in a candidate:
Progressing towards a Bachelor’s degree with major in Computer Science.
Experience in Java 17+ required.
Knowledge of SQL, RDBMS is required.
Basic understanding of AWS services preferred.
Experience in Web UI Development preferred.
Experience with Spring Framework preferred.
Experience with Integration using JMS preferred.

 

To be eligible for the internship candidate must have completed at least the first year of college and be currently enrolled in a four year or graduate-level academic program. Candidates must have the authority to work in the US on a permanent basis, without requiring sponsorship.
