Job Title: Software Engineering Intern 

Department: Equipment Engineering Group (EEG), Operations 

Location: Maple Grove, MN 

Internship dates: May - August 2025 (dates flexible)

Introduction: 

We are looking for a proactive student within Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar distinction for the Software Engineering Internship within our Equipment Engineering Group.  This role has a hands-on approach in equipment development including automation and controls design, electro-mechanical systems, industrial and collaborative robots, and computer hardware and software support.  This enables us to support and develop a wide range of legacy and new technology solutions across the full spectrum of manufacturing capability from high volume automation to low volume manual assembly.

As a Software Engineer Intern you are...   

Able to learn independently about new technologies or platforms in a fast-paced environment  

Great at complex problem solving, designing, troubleshooting, implementing, and debugging technical solutions  

Effective at collaborating with team members of all backgrounds and disciplines, with strong written and verbal communication skills  

Understanding software development and programming languages at a basic to intermediate level  

Pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in an engineering or technical discipline  

  

Your Impact: 

Work in a dynamic, collaborative environment to understand requirements, design, code and test innovative applications and manufacturing machines  

Create PC based interfaces to hardware that are clean, documented, and easy to use  

Update and maintain electrical schematics for manufacturing equipment  

Assist in troubleshooting both software and electrical issues on the production floor  

Design robust systems with focus on the long-term maintenance and support of the product  

Engage in Continuous Improvement activities  

  

Qualifications 

Current Bachelors student in your Junior or Senior year or grad student, must have at least one more semester of school left post-internship to qualify.  

Pursuing following majors: Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science 

Must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction 

  

Preferred Knowledge, or Experience   

Preferred Programming Languages:  C#, WPF, VB.NET  

Other Applicable Languages: Java 

Frameworks, Libraries or Tools:  .NET Framework, .NET Core, TFS, GIT, Visual Studio
