What we are looking for:

Yazaki is seeking a Co-Op to join the Corporate Security team as a Security Analyst working in its Security Operations Center, located in Canton, Michigan. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment to develop and enhance their intelligence and security skills and experience.  Note:  This is not a cybersecurity role

What you will be doing: 

  • Analyzing and assessing events to determine the potential impact on our assets, including personnel, facilities, product, or brand.
  • Identifying and tracking incidents to resolution.
  • Communicating with relevant business units and functional groups using both verbal and written communications.
  • Using various situational awareness tools to advise decision-makers quickly and accurately on possible courses of action.
  • Monitor and administer travel security operations, including tracking, assisting, and advising international travelers on regional security issues, including preparation of location threat briefs.
  • Supporting site and regional events by gathering intelligence and information.
  • Monitoring social media.
  • Conducting proactive research into potential risks.
  • Performing research, analysis, and reporting on threat environments as directed.
  • Responding promptly to requests for intelligence information; correlating intelligence and contextual data of cases with data and prepare briefing materials, presentations, and drafting information papers/articles on intelligence issues.
  • Utilizing your interpersonal and communication skills as a professional representative of Corporate Security.
  • Monitoring and responding to alerts and alarms involving physical protection systems (e.g., surveillance systems, electronic access control, intrusion alarms, etc.).

 

What you will bring to the table:

  • Enrollment (part-time or full-time) at an accredited institution, with an academic concentration toward intelligence, investigations, political science, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • High motivation to gain experience related to intelligence, investigations, and security-related functions.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA: 3.0
  • Availability to work a minimum of 24 hours per week.
  • Strong initiative and attention to detail
  • Adaptability and flexibility in dealing with change.
  • Ability to thrive in a stressful, fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service-orientated mindset
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office
