Join the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Alaska State Office in Anchorage, AK, as a Technical Information Specialist (TIS) Intern in the Pipeline Monitoring and Environmental Compliance (PMEC) Section! You’ll have the chance to work on a crucial project involving the iconic Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and help preserve important records that shape the future of environmental compliance and historic documentation.

Internship Details:
- Start Date: January 27, 2024
- End Date: June 1, 2025
- Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week

Compensation:
- $650/week living allowance
- $1,000 one-time travel stipend
- $1,000/month housing allowance
- Eligibility: This position is part of the Public Land Corps Authority, and applicants must be between 16-30 years old, or veterans aged 35 or younger.
What You’ll Do:
- Create detailed, accurate file inventories for approximately 650 boxes of historical TAPS records.
- Follow metadata requirements and work closely with the TIS to ensure that project deadlines are met.
- If time allows, assist with additional filing and inventory tasks for the PMEC’s TAPS records vault.
What We’re Looking For:
- Attention to Detail & Organizational Skills: A keen eye for detail and strong organizational abilities are key to success in this role.
- Physical Ability: The ability to lift boxes weighing around 40 lbs.
- Communication & Problem-Solving: You’ll need to be a proactive communicator and team player to stay on track with this important project.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a federal background investigation.
