Software Engineering Intern

Job Summary:

That’s where you come in!  As an IT Intern, you will be involved in all phases of software development, from requirements definition to production releases.  You will be embedded in a cross-function team of analysts, developers, product managers, and testing staff, collectively striving to quickly deliver high-quality, high-value software.  We strive to provide value to our customers with each iteration.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop web applications and APIs that allow our business partners and customers more efficient and productive.
  • Participate in design sessions with other Engineers, Business Analysts, Users and Quality Assurance Analysts.
  • Work in a collaborative, agile, team environment that leverages latest stack technologies.
  • Write SOLID code using test-driven development methodologies.
  • Execute development tasks in accordance with project timelines.
  • Develop automated tests in partnership with application development for continuous regression testing.

 

Required Skills:

  • .NET
  • C#
  • T-SQL
  • Microsoft Visual Studio

 

Desired Skills: (2 or more, ideally)

  • Agile, Scrum, Lean
  • Modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, etc.) using TypeScript
  • Entity Framework 6.0+
  • ASP.NET Web API 2
  • Use of Dependency Injection Frameworks and writing Unit Tests
  • VSTS with Git
  • Messaging Technologies (RabbitMQ, MSMQ, etc.)
  • Experience with and understanding of Design Patterns (Strategy, Abstract Factory, Singleton, Adapter, etc.)

 

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in CIS/CSE/MIS
  • Ability to thrive in a driven, passionate, creative, and collaborative environment.
