Hourly Range: $19.60 - $25.50

*Hourly rate commensurate with education and experience.

 

Job Summary

As a Project Analyst (IC) Intern at BPMI, you will provide multi-functional life cycle project management to all I&C equipment components. Areas supported will include project planning and scheduling, budgeting and funding determination, risk management, coordination and integration of efforts across the product team, and communications with project stakeholders, including I&C engineering and procurement, I&C suppliers, Fleet Support and Logistics (FSL), and Business & Financial Operations.

 

This opportunity will begin Summer 2025, working a full-time schedule (40 hours/week).  Please note, this is not a remote position. You will be expected to come into the office for this opportunity.

 

Our internship will give you the opportunity to work in your field of study while simultaneously pursuing your bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university. These opportunities can enhance your academic training while teaching critical business skills and allowing you to learn about BPMI, the Navy, and the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Administer the process steps and information flow for I&C product life cycle function(s) with significant oversight. Analyze I&C product life cycle logistics processes and data streams from all I&C program sources and recommend actions to be taken. Ensure the use of Enterprise Business System (EBS), Government Property Return and Repair (GPRR), and data therein is effective and accurate for processes performed.
  • Assist in component shipments to support navy stock assets related to I&C fleet and supplier actions.
  • Assist in return and repairs, specifically ensuring repair effort is funded and placed with supplier, cognizant engineer review of repair is complete, and shipment to/from vendor has occurred.
  • Assist in reassignments/diversions, including interfacing with procurement and BFO to establish appropriate funding.
  • Assist in establishing new IRPODs with FSL, reviewing existing IRPODs and recommending changes to cognizant engineers.
  • Respond to SDR evaluation requests.
  • Assist in J-IRPOD repair part back-order report to ensure necessary actions are in place to fill open requisitions.
  • Assist in I&C component provisioning efforts including initiation and maintenance of provisioning documents, with appropriate direction and interface with I&C cognizant engineers.
  • Assist in the financial aspects of I&C product life cycles by collecting and summarizing metric data, and in the preparation of performance to plan reports.
  • Assist in component evaluations and participate on project teams by supporting the development of risk management plans, communications plans, quality plans, etc., and project meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic reviews, issue stand-alone reports, and resolve open issues.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent education from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of four full semesters completed prior to your internship (~60 credits).
  • Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications desired.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Detail oriented self-starter.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong teaming skills working with all levels of management, engineers, procurement professionals, supply chain professionals, onsite and remote Navy personnel.
  • Desire to improve, revise, and change logistics management processes for greater business performance.
