Summary:

The Database Administrator will be responsible for the developing, managing and maintaining the data warehouse for Contexture.  The role will ensure that data is available for use in a variety of ways for the health information exchange. In addition, this position will contribute input on new technology opportunities.

 

This position is based in Phoenix Arizona, Denver Colorado, or Grand Junction Colorado. Our strategic flexibility allows for local work from home opportunities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Mongo and SQL databases
  • Develop and execute an archive strategy that fits the business needs at Contexture
  • Design, implement, and maintain a data warehouse solution for both clinical and non-clinical data for data reporting and analytics purpose
  • Create integration packages and ETL jobs to facilitate the ingest and delivery of clinical and non-clinical data from source to destination systems
  • Create complex database statements and queries in order to retrieve data, insert data and modify data in an efficient manner
  • Work with Product Development to Design, Document, and Build new products and solutions
  • Analyze and provide feedback on existing internal and external data driven solutions
  • Design storage indexes and tables to facilitate simple and complex data driven applications including BI tools such as Tableau
  • Day-to-day maintenance and administration of SQL and MongoDB server environments including user administration, back-up and recovery, and performance monitoring
  • Assists in developing long-term strategies and capacity plans for meeting future database storage and hardware needs in support of operational initiatives
  • Ensure all database servers are patched regularly and secured according to best practices
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after hour support as needed
  • As applicable, after-hours work may be necessary to support deployments, changes, or major incident response
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Skills

  • Data Modeling experience with industry best practices
  • Experience in SQL to MongoDB data migration
  • Knowledge and experience with MongoDB Robo 3T or similar software
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft SSRS or similar software 
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft SSIS or similar software
  • Experience with installing, maintaining, and developing Microsoft SQL server Standard and Enterprise, and MongoDB 
  • Competency with T-SQL, CLR and XP command as well as stored procedures and functions
  • Competency with data table partitioning and storage strategies for data in an RDBMS
  • Understanding of Microsoft Windows server 
  • Skilled in establishing a mechanism to harden the database environment conforming to industrial standards 
  • Must occasionally be available for after-hours work, outside of normally scheduled hours

Education/Experience

Minimum of 5+ years of senior level experience with database technologies.  Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another related discipline preferred. Healthcare experience preferred.

The position may  require occasional availability for after-hours work, outside of regularly scheduled hours.

 

The position may require ability to periodically drive to and from clients, conferences and / or events; and / or limited travel.

Physical Demands

The person in this position needs to frequently communicate and exchange information and move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a keyboard, monitor, calculator, copy / scanner machine, and printer. Frequently moves office and work-related material weighing up to 10 pounds; Occasionally moves office and work-related material weighing up to 30 pounds.
