2025 Actuarial Internship
Who we are:
Our Actuarial Interns are trained to handle the everyday operations of a member of an actuarial team. They will learn to both conduct technical work toward actual projects of the actuarial team, as well as other ad-hoc work actuaries are involved with for running the business.
What you will do as an Intern:
- Gain direct exposure to the work of the actuarial pricing, valuation, or forecast team. Use your passion for rigorous technical work to provide real business solutions and present your findings.
- Assist in performing actuarial calculations, including premium rate development, reserve analysis, loss forecasting, and profitability assessments.
- Utilize actuarial software and tools effectively to conduct data analysis, perform calculations, and generate reports. Assist in maintaining and updating actuarial models and databases
- Collaborate with actuaries and other team members on various actuarial projects, including product development, pricing studies, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
- Collect, analyze, and validate large volumes of data to ensure its accuracy and reliability for reporting
- Enjoy team-building and bonding activities with colleagues
- Spend time in face-to-face meetings with executives
Required Education/Experience
- Completion of one or more actuarial exams is required.
- Course work toward a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field preferred.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity in data analysis and manipulation using tools such as Excel, SQL, or programming languages like Python or R
- Basic knowledge of actuarial concepts, principles, and methodologies
