The Sophomore Career Exploration Internship gives you the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at a unique institution. Through project-based work and professional development activities, you’ll get both an introduction to professional life and an understanding of the New York Fed’s consequential and dynamic work. In addition to your daily responsibilities, you’ll gain personal and professional skills to help you prepare for the next steps in your education and career journeys. You’ll be part of a collaborative and inclusive cohort and be paired with a mentor who’s excited to support you. During your internship, you’ll also learn more about our Junior Summer Analyst program, which serves as a recruitment pipeline for the New York Fed’s entry-level hiring.

The Corporate Group is dedicated to being a trusted, strategic business partner to customers Bank wide, delivering a broad range of innovative, impactful solutions that help the New York Fed meet its mission. The Group is aligned across its Functions to provide superior services and value-added resource and financial management that support our clients and the Bank meet objectives. Interns will be placed in one of the Group’s following Function Business Areas:
Corporate Group Support & Enterprise Services (GS&ES) which serves as the Group’s centralized, internal business development partner, allowing CG’s other functions to align their operations and concentrate on their core competencies. CGSS focusses on three service areas, Business Support: Business Technology & Data Management. Enterprise Services and Risk Management
Procurement Value Management (PVM) maximizes value for the Bank by reducing the total cost of ownership of goods and services procured from third parties, managing the Bank’s vendor-related spend as a strategic resource, supporting the governance of vendor relationships utilizing a risk-adjusted and advisory approach, and enhancing our solution delivery for our clients in support of their business objectives.
Corporate Real Estate (“CRE”) provides a safe, effective and efficient work environment in normal and contingency situations. CRE is a valued business partner that enables business areas through the delivery of facilities operations, workplace solutions, space design, and management of capital improvement programs. CRE manages the NY Fed’s real estate portfolio in alignment with the mission, vision and values of the institution and is adaptive to change.
Your role as a Summer Corporate Intern:
Work as a member of key business areas collaborating with and supporting teams on a variety of initiatives, projects and day-to-day responsibilities. This can include:
Preparing, reviewing and submitting data analytics reports for the business areas they are assigned to.
Responding to operational service requests that come into the Business Support and Real Estate teams.
Drafting internal communications for newsletters.
Provide support to enhance the teams’ existing PowerPoint presentations for circulation to key partners and Bank leadership: redesign, new slides, and formatting.
Participating and attending business area meetings and Group events.
Performing assignments designated by Business Area managers.
create dynamic and user-friendly Tableau dashboards for both reporting and exploratory purposes.
Analyze data using statistical methods / tools to identify patterns and trends.
Collaborate with direct team members and other business stakeholders on projects and responsibilities.
Analyze Procurement Value Management’s policies, standards, and related documentation to provide insights into updating the guidance and resource documents.
What we are looking for:
A demonstrated interest in business operations, data analysis, program and project management, real estate management, engineering/architecture, finance, accounting, ethics and compliance, risk management, supplier diversity, with a strong academic record and passion for public service.
Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Acrobat.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Expected graduation between Winter 2026 & Spring 2027

Salary Range: Your regular wages for the 8 weeks will be paid on a semi-monthly basis and will be calculated based on an annual salary of $65,600, less applicable taxes. We believe in transparency at the NY Fed. This salary range reflects a variety of skills and experiences candidates may bring to the job. We pay individuals along this range based on their unique backgrounds. Whether you’re stretching into the job or are a more seasoned candidate, we aim to pay competitively for your contributions.
