Position Summary
The Property Tax Intern assists and supports the assigned team members in performing Real Estate and/or Business Personal Property assessment reviews for DMA clients, to achieve maximum tax savings and provide other state and local tax consulting services.
This internship is a 12-week internship, during the Summer 2025 semester, taking place from May to August. Application review and interview process will take place during the Fall 24 and Spring 25 Semester.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
- Provide support for team members in the assessment review process, including representing clients during appeals and hearings with State and Local taxing authorities
- Prepares reports and analysis supporting DMA’s position for State and Local taxing authorities; reviews and submits periodic status reports to clients; prepares Letters of Findings for clients
- Attend on-site inspection of client property (plants and operations)
- Assists Tax Managers, Directors and other business development professionals in scoping and developing customized solutions for new and prospective clients
- Follow economic and industry news to identify areas of obsolescence
- Research state and local tax issues
- Participate in business development initiatives
- Participate in business development research

Education and Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word or Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational, research and interpersonal skills required
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and deadlines
Physical Requirements
- Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
