COO Internship
About the position & department
The COO Wholesale Banking (WB) Americas is accountable for defining and setting the WB COO Americas operations strategy, based on WB COO and WB Americas strategy, and optimizing productivity and customer satisfaction in Operations to improve operational efficiency for the (5,000+) segmented Wholesale Bank clients in the US remit.
The Operations team supports all Wholesale Bank products, including Lending Services, Financial Markets, and Capital Markets. Additionally, WB COO Americas consists of the Data Management and Operational Design, Control and Resilience functions, and works closely with the KYC function. The department has multiple functional reporting lines to global COO and a hierarchical line to WB Americas.

This posting is focused on positions in the below areas:
COO (Operations)
As part of the internship the intern will meet with the members of the COO management team and gain an understanding of the role of the COO Department in the organization, the products we support, the systems and tools used to deliver services to clients.
As an intern, you’ll dive into one of the exciting roles within the COO Department. You’ll play a crucial role in enhancing our processes, control environment and developing procedures and guidelines. Your efforts will ensure we meet regulatory requirements and deliver top-notch service to our clients. You’ll collaborate closely with various teams, gaining invaluable experience and making a real impact!
Profile (What we’re looking for)
Undergraduate college student, graduating in 2026 or 2027 in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering, or related field. Graduate students may also be considered for certain roles.
Liberal arts majors interested in careers in finance and banking are welcome to apply.
Experience / Knowledge:
- A knowledge of Microsoft (excel, word, power point)
Competencies
- Individual must be self-motivated
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills: written and oral
The salary for this role is $35/hour with the potential for overtime.
