Property Tax Intern - Strategic Valuation Services - Spring 2025

Position Summary

Assists assigned Consultants, Tax Managers and Directors in performing property tax assessment reviews for DMA clients in an effort to achieve maximum tax savings and provide other state and local tax consulting services.

This internship is a 12-week internship, during the Spring 2025 semester, taking place from January to April. Application review and interview process will take place during the Fall 2024 semester. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides support for Tax Managers and Directors in the property tax assessment review process, including preparation of deliverables to support management during appeals and hearings with state and local taxing authorities
  • Prepares reports and analysis supporting DMA’s position for state and local taxing authorities; reviews and submits periodic client status reports to management; prepares Letters of Findings for clients
  • Assists Tax Managers, Directors and other business development professionals in scoping and developing customized solutions for new and prospective clients
  • Follows industry market activity and economic trends
  • Researches state and local tax issues
  • Participates in business development initiatives and research

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Education and Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational, research and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and deadlines
