Property Tax Consulting Intern - Summer 2025

Position Summary

Assists assigned Consultants, Tax Managers and Directors in performing Real and Personal Property assessment reviews for DMA clients in an effort to achieve maximum tax savings and provide other state and local tax consulting services. 

This internship is a 12-week internship, during the Summer 2025 semester, taking place from May to August. Application review and interview process will take place during the Fall 24 and Spring 25 Semester.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide support for Tax Managers and Directors in the assessment review process, including representing clients during appeals and hearings with Local taxing authorities.
  • Prepare reports and analyses supporting DMA’s position for taxing authorities; reviews and submits periodic status reports to clients; prepares Letters of Findings for clients.
  • Attend on-site inspection of client property (plants and operations)
  • Assist Tax Managers, Directors and other business development professionals in scoping and developing customized solutions for new and prospective clients.
  • Follow economic and industry news to identify areas of obsolescence.
  • Stay current on property tax legislative, judicial, and administrative developments.

Education and Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational, research and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and deadlines
