WordPress Developer

Job Title: WordPress Developer

Location: Remote
Type: Internship
Duration: 6 months

Job Description:

As a WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing websites using the WordPress platform. You will collaborate closely with our design and content teams to create visually appealing, user-friendly, and high-performance websites. This internship is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build hands-on experience with WordPress development, expand their technical skill set, and contribute to live projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop custom WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Customize and enhance existing WordPress themes and plugins based on project requirements.
  • Collaborate with designers to implement responsive and visually appealing website designs.
  • Ensure websites are optimized for speed, SEO, and overall performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to WordPress functionality.
  • Implement website security and regular backups to protect against vulnerabilities.
  • Work with the content team to integrate and update website content.
  • Stay updated with the latest WordPress trends, technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
  • Experience with WordPress, including theme and plugin development.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Basic understanding of website optimization techniques for speed and SEO.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug website issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Skill Sets:

  • Proficiency in WordPress development (themes, plugins).
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Backend development using PHP.
  • Database management (MySQL) as it relates to WordPress.
  • Website performance optimization and SEO.
  • Version control (Git).
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies is a plus.
