Production Engineer Intern Summer 2025

PRODUCTION ENGINEER SUMMER INTERN

Daikin has a robust and established internship program. Our 10 to 12-week summer program provides students with the opportunity to work individually and in groups. SUMMER INTERNSHIP

During the internship, college students will:

● Work on an individual project with your direct team

● Work with other interns on a group project

● Interact with leadership in the company, including VPs

● Network across functions and teams

● Participate in social and team building activities

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

● Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now and in the future 

● Graduation Dates:  December 2025 - May 2027

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

● Review engineering changes to HVAC product designs, utilizing knowledge of mechanical engineering principles

● Develop and manage project schedules related to existing product launches or design modifications

● Process product design requests by reviewing bills of materials, drawings, and engineering change requests

● Develop engineering solutions to product related issues through problem solving and root cause analysis techniques

● Production engineering support in a high volume manufacturing environment. Able to identify the root cause of issues and implement permanent solutions

● Participate on cross functional teams to launch products, resolve issues, and support product improvements

● Assist production with product launches and issue resolution utilizing product knowledge and issuing pilot run reports

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

During the internship, college students will gain the below skills:

● Experience in a variety of assembly methods and technology

● Expert on core manufacturing documentation – PFMEAs, PCPs, PFDs, DFA/DFM, and all aspects of manufacturing in a high volume environment

● Lean manufacturing concepts (e.g., Kaizan, value stream mapping, Kanban, demand flow technology

● Strong communication skills to deliver the message to any level of the organization – with clarity required at each level
