STRATEGY INSIGHTS & PLANNING ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT INTERN - ZS COGNITIVE

Strategy Insights & Planning Associate Consultants (SIPACs) create and deliver solutions for our project teams and clients. SIPACs leverage their analytic, synthesis and communication skills to derive insights and solve business problems. In particular, SIPACs support management of the project plan and collaborate with their project team to apply problem-solving frameworks to client issues, support clients in change initiatives and employ standard analytic techniques to help guide client decisions.

ZS COGNITIVE – The COGNITIVE team at ZS focuses on applying methods and learnings from a range of cognitive, behavioral and psychological fields to help our clients solve business problems. Our work ranges from health decision science projects to elucidate the decision drivers in health decisions to applying organizational and behavioral science to helping clients change their capabilities to better compete. We work with a number of different research methods in a fast-moving and high-performing team blending consulting and scientific expertise.


Responsibilities:

 

• Learn how to apply our cognitive and behavioral science data set to solve client behavioral objectives;

• Conduct market research and/or desk research to derive insights and inform client decision making;

• Design custom analyses using tools like Excel, Access, Confirmit and ZS's proprietary software;

• Synthesize and communicate results to clients and ZS teams;

• Collaborate with client and ZS teams to implement solutions;

• Take immediate responsibility for project deliverables.

• Actively use AI/ML tools and techniques, such as ZS AI tools, LangChain or consumer AI products, to enhance project outcomes.



 

Qualifications:

Candidates should be starting their second-to-last year of their doctorate degree (with the internship taking place the summer before their final year) with strong academic performance in any discipline with analytic and quantitative coursework and/or research training in judgment and decision-making (JDM) (specifically Decision Science/Decision Neuroscience; Medical Decision Making/Health Decision Science/Health Psychology; Neuroeconomics/Behavioral Economics; and related fields of Public Health, Business, Economics, Law, Marketing, Psychology, Biology and Life Sciences, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or relevant subdisciplines)

  • Research or experience working with topics such as memory, decision-making, or cognition strongly preferred.
  • Active use of AI/ML in day-to-day activities, either in work, school, or personal projects.
  • Research expertise and domain expertise in areas such as:
    • Research methods in neuroscience, psychology
    • Psychometrics
    • Quantitative analysis of behavior (and/or neurophysiologic measurement)
    • Research laboratory training & experience (>2 years)
    • Teaching and/or mentoring experience (of junior lab colleagues, undergraduate students)
  • High motivation, good work ethic, maturity, and personal initiative.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Empathy, adaptability, and high personal impact.
  • Close attention to detail, with a quality-focused mindset.
  • Self-discipline for planning and organizing tasks.
